Is an Annual Fund Campaign unique to The McGillis School?
No. All independent schools and colleges have long relied on the generosity and loyalty of their community. Very few independent schools, colleges, or universities have the ability to sustain their school community with tuition alone.
Why not increase the tuition to cover the costs?
By keeping costs down and tuition affordable we can reach a broader population creating our unique McGillis Community. Also, a donation to the school is tax-deductible and tuition is not.
What are the goals of the Annual Fund?
Participation is the most important way you can express your support for The School. We ask the entire community to participate in the Annual Fund.
How much does The McGillis School expect me to give?
We hope that each family member can find a way to participate at a level that is comfortable and appropriate for them. The McGillis School is truly grateful for every gift.
What about my company's matching gift program?
Many companies match gifts to independent schools. To find out if your employer will match your gift to The McGillis School, check with your personnel office. Obtain the proper form and send it to our Advancement Office, along with your gift. Our Advancement Office will secure the matching gift.
